Fees and Rebates
Fees
Fees are $180 an hour. If you are eligible to receive the rebate through Medicare with the Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), out-of-pocket expenses will be $91.75 per 50+ minute session for up to 10 sessions with an option for +10 more under Covid pandemic support.
Method of Payment
Payment is required to be paid in full at your appointment. This can be done via card, cash or direct deposit. If you specify your bank details, the practice management software program (Halaxy) will process your Medicare rebate into your specified account. If no bank account details are specified and Medicare has your bank details, Medicare will process the rebate into the account specified. Please note that transactions completed via the management system will be processed every 4-6weeks.
Cancellation Policy
Late notice cancellations could have been given to someone else in need. Please email or text to cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend or no longer require it with at least 24 hours notice given as cancellation fees will apply.
Medicare and Healthcare Rebates
Medicare Rebate
A Medicare rebate is available to individuals with a Mental Health Care Plan from their General Practitioner or Specialist under the Better Access to Mental Health Initiative.
Initially, you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate for 6 psychology sessions, after which, you will need a follow-up appointment with your referring doctor for review. If deemed appropriate by your referring doctor, a further 4 sessions may be accessible under your Mental Health Care Plan. A further 10 sessions are also available for individuals experiencing severe or enduring mental health impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Self-funded and Private Health Insurance
If you do not hold a Mental Health Care Plan, or if your 10 sessions have been completed under your Plan for the year, you will need to pay for sessions as a self-funded patient. This means that you will need to pay for the full amount of the session at the end of each appointment.
If you hold private health insurance extras/ancillary insurance, you may be eligible for a partial refund of the session amount depending on your level of private health fund cover. Please contact your health fund to inquire about your eligibility.
